What costs less, trimming a tree or cutting it down? | Victoria, BC, Canada

Answering the question whether you'll save money cutting down a tree or trimming it, there are many small inclusions to discuss. Firstly, removing a tree is typically a one time fee, whereas trimming a tree is regularly a routine task that can cost money for the rest of your life. That's why, if you enjoy seeing the tree, you'd like to see that it's properly trimmed rather than blocking your view of the sky by being unmaintained. This is one important thing you must consider when deciding whether or not to cut down a tree or trim it. Victoria BC often holds the record for the greenest city in Canada. At least that's what I heard. I'm an employee of Top Tree Service cutting down a lot of trees and trimming a lot of tree crowns.

It's slow today so I'm writing this on my phone. If it were up to me, I'd seriously consider how much I love the tree before I decided to cut it down, and if I really loved it I would probably like to see it trimmed annually so that it stays healthy while also not disturbing the urban area I live in. On the other hand, if the tree was scraggly and only causing a nuisance rather than adding to the biome of my garden, I'd probably pay a pretty penny to have it felled. It's just me when I say that the cost of caring for my trees is totally worth it, and I trim them myself twice per year.

Trimming a tree, an exercise that takes skill and will benefit the tree for the rest of its life, could be as cheap as $85! But removing a tree could be as expensive as $200+ all depending on the circumstances of course. Picture it. You got one tree that needs a few hours of trimming, but it takes some heavy equipment and time to get the job done, which costs you a bit of money. Then your other option would be totally removing the tree so that you never have to think about it again. It's actually true, cutting the tree down and grinding the stump away will get rid of your problem long-term, but if you'd rather have the tree there, a quick and affordable tree care service once every few years can have it healthy while looking great for you and all your neighbors.
